Job summary

Kativik Ilisarniliriniq in Kuujjuaq (Nunavik) seeks an Office Agent to support the Coordinator of School Operations with a range of administrative duties. You will book travel, process financial requests, reconcile credit cards, organize records, and set up meetings, while handling other tasks as needed.

The role is 35 hours per week, hybrid work, under the AENQ collective agreement with a salary range of $25.61–$28.65 per hour prorated with benefits.

Qualifications

  • Secondary School Diploma or Diploma of Vocational Studies in office administration and one year of relevant experience.
  • Fluent in at least two of Inuktitut, English or French.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Word/Excel/PowerPoint/SharePoint/Teams/OneDrive).
  • Ability to work independently in an office environment.

Job description

FUNCTION & DUTIES:

Under the supervision of the Coordinator of School Operations, the Office Agent carries out, according to established methods and procedures, various complex administrative duties including the following:

  • Assist the Coordinator of School Operations with general office tasks within the department.
  • Book accommodation and follow up on travel requests.
  • Process financial service requests (FS).
  • Reconcile credit cards.
  • Organize and maintain department records.
  • Set up meeting rooms and arrange for snacks.
  • Perform any other related tasks as requested by the immediate supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS:

Secondary School Diploma or Diploma of Vocational Studies in office administration, and one (1) year of relevant experience.

The School Board may, at its discretion, waive any or all of the afore-mentioned qualification requirements if it finds a suitable candidate who is a beneficiary of the James Bay and Northern Québec Agreement (JBNQA) and who accepts, as a condition of employment, to follow a training plan determined by the Board.

REQUIREMENTS:
  • Basic accounting skills.
  • Fluent (oral and written) in at least two (2) of the three (3) official working languages of the school board: Inuktitut, English, or French.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SharePoint, Teams, and OneDrive.
  • Ability to work independently in an office environment.
WORK SCHEDULE:

35 hours per week from Monday to Friday.

CLASSIFICATION / SALARY / BENEFITS:

In accordance with the AENQ collective agreement for support staff, this position belongs to job category 4102: from $25.61 to $28.65 an hour depending on qualification and experience. All benefits are prorated based on the percentage of the task.
