Job summary

Aramex Canada Inc. in Toronto is seeking a dedicated Freight Specialist to coordinate ocean freight shipments from booking to delivery, ensure regulatory compliance, and provide exceptional client support.

You will optimize shipment flow, liaise with carriers, trucking firms, and customs brokers, and maintain accurate documentation while leveraging CargoWise for booking, tracking, and invoicing.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2–3 years in freight forwarding or international shipping, focusing on ocean freight.
• Experience with ocean freight forwarding and coordinating with global partners.
• Hands-on CargoWise usage for bookings, documentation and tracking.
• Solid understanding of FMC regulations and import/export requirements.
• Experience coordinating with lines, trucking, customs brokers, and agents.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate ocean freight shipments from booking to final delivery.
• Assess customer needs and select carriers/routes with cost-effective solutions.
• Prepare bills of lading and export documentation per regulatory and client requirements.
• Use CargoWise to oversee bookings, tracking, documentation, and invoicing.
• Coordinate with trucking firms, warehouses, brokers and overseas agents.
• Maintain shipment visibility and provide timely updates to stakeholders.
• Identify and resolve delays, document discrepancies, and billing issues.
• Negotiate freight rates with carriers and service providers.
• Prepare and process invoices; ensure accurate billing and settlements.
• Maintain detailed shipment records for KPIs and reporting.
• Stay current on FMC and OT I regulations and international law.
