Job summary

Alberta Health Services is seeking an Occupational Therapist I at the Viking Health Centre. The role focuses on enabling meaningful occupations—self-care, productivity, and leisure—by providing comprehensive OT services and collaborating with clients, families and care teams.

Responsibilities include triage, assessment, treatment planning, and community-based support, with emphasis on client-centred care and interprofessional collaboration.

Qualifications

• Completion of a bachelor's degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited university program.
• Active registration with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists (ACOT).
• BLS certification is required.

Responsibilities

• Provide evidence-informed OT services to meet client needs.
• Triage, screening, assessment, diagnosis and goal setting with clients and families.
• Deliver treatment, education, self-management and prevention supports.
• Coordinate referrals and transitions with stakeholders and health teams.
• Collaborate with interprofessional teams to improve quality of care.
• Participate in peer mentoring and supervising students; supervise Therapy Assistants/Aides.
