Job summary

CBI Home Health in Calgary is hiring Occupational Therapists to provide assessment and treatment in home and community settings. The role includes managing a clinical caseload, performing home safety and ergonomic assessments, and delivering holistic care within a collaborative team.

Successful candidates are registered with the Alberta College of Occupational Therapists, can travel within the Calgary area, hold CPR Level C certification, and are compassionate, collaborative, and client-centered

Qualifications

  • Excellent communication skills and ability to collaborate within an interdisciplinary team.
  • Ability to work independently with strong judgment and decision-making.
  • Commitment to person- and family-centered care.
  • Ability to travel within the Calgary area (valid driver’s license and reliable car).
  • CPR level C certification within the last 12 months prior to starting employment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide assessment and treatment to clients with varying needs, including chronic and mental health conditions.
  • Conduct home, job, safety/attendant care assessments and functional evaluations as required.
  • Manage and prioritize clinical caseloads and coordinate delivery of therapeutic services.
  • Participate in a collaborative care model to deliver holistic, comprehensive care.
  • Promote positive relationships with clients, team members, funders, and the community.

What you will do:

  • Provide assessment and treatment to a wide variety of clients with varying needs, including those with chronic and/or mental health conditions
  • Provide impartial home, job, and safety/attendant care assessments, functional ability evaluations, insurer examinations, ergonomic assessments, client education, and job coaching, as required
  • Be responsible for managing and prioritizing clinical caseloads, and for the coordination and delivery of therapeutic services
  • Participate in a collaborative care model providing holistic, comprehensive care to meet the needs of clients
  • Promote positive relationships between clients, team members, funders and the community

What you will need to be successful:

  • You are registered as a member in good standing with the College of Occupational Therapists of Alberta
  • Ability to travel within the Calgary area (valid driver's license and reliable car is required)
  • Health Care Providers Level C CPR certification issued within the last 12 months prior to commencement of employment
  • Your focus is to embrace person and family-centered care
  • You are passionate, empathetic, use good judgement and apply critical thinking when making client decisions
  • You are known for your excellent communication skills and ability to work in collaboration within an interdisciplinary team as well as work independently
  • You value the role a therapist plays in keeping clients at home when that is of personal importance
