Job summary

Sienna Senior Living in Barrie, ON is seeking an Registered Practical Nurse for a temporary full-time daytime role. You will provide nursing care to residents, collaborate with families, and supervise care teams to maintain high standards of comfort and dignity.

Qualifications

• Licensed Registered Practical Nurse in good standing with the Ontario College of Nurses.
• Geriatrics, rehabilitation, or senior health experience is an asset.
• Good judgement and ability to identify risk; foster a positive work environment.

Responsibilities

• Provide nursing care per policy, orders, care plan, and scope of practice.
• Deliver excellent nursing and personal care with sound nursing principles.
• Create a welcoming environment through teamwork and effective communication with staff and residents.
• Oversee resident care, communicate with residents and families, and guide staff.
• Supervise Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members on the unit.
• Manage admissions, readmissions, status changes, and ongoing resident assessments.

Rate of Pay $33.24 - $34.78 (As per Collective Agreement)

What You’ll Be Doing

• Provide nursing care in accordance with established policy, physician’s orders, the resident plan of care, and within the scope of practice of an RPN/LPN.
• Utilizing sound nursing practice principles, ensure delivery of excellent nursing and personal care
• Creating a welcoming and supportive environment for the residents through teamwork and effective communication with staff
• Overseeing resident care, including regular communication with residents and their families, and providing guidance to staff
• Supervise the Personal Support Workers/Unregulated team members assigned to the unit
• Admission, readmission, and change in status, and provide ongoing assessment to the residents

Who You Are

• A Registered Practical Nurse in good standing the Ontario College of Nurses
• An asset is having experience in Geriatrics, Rehabilitation and/or senior health industry
• You have good judgement, the ability to identify risk and can foster a positive work environment
• You must be legally eligible to work in Canada or have a valid work permit
