Job summary

Government of Yukon in Whitehorse is seeking a Nurse Specialized in Wound, Ostomy and Continence Care (NSWOC) to provide advanced nursing expertise across long-term care, home care, acute care and community settings within Yukon.

The NSWOC will lead clinical care, mentor staff and collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to improve wound, ostomy and continence outcomes while advancing practice guidelines and patient-centred care.

Qualifications

• Eligibility for registration as a Registered Nurse with Yukon RN Association.
• NSWOC(C) certification through CNA is required.
• Ability to provide clinical leadership, education, mentorship and coaching.

Responsibilities

• Provide advanced NSWOC nursing care across LTC, home care, acute care and community settings.
• Offer clinical leadership, consultation and education to interprofessional teams.
• Support development and implementation of wound care guidelines and quality improvement.
• Collaborate with clients, families and care teams to plan and evaluate care.
