Providence Health Care in Vancouver seeks an Educator, Wound, Ostomy & Skin Continence to advance patient care through education, clinical expertise, and evidence-based practice. Reporting to the Patient Care Manager, you will consult on wound, ostomy, and continence care and collaborate with NSWOC and interdisciplinary teams.

Qualifications

• Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the BC College of Nurses and Midwives.
• Two years recent, related advanced wound/ostomy/continence care experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
• Successful completion of NSWOCC-WOC-EP or WOCN certificate.

Responsabilités

• Provide clinical consultation for complex wound and ostomy care by assessing clients, reviewing charts, and collaborating with the care team.
• Deliver direct patient care using advanced nursing skills within the specialty area.
• Plan, implement, and evaluate education programs based on staff learning needs and clinical priorities.
• Promote evidence-based practice by integrating research into policies, procedures, and education materials.
• Act as a clinical resource by mentoring staff, role modeling best practices, and supporting complex case discussions.
• Review and recommend updates to clinical policies, procedures, and reference materials.
• Participate in research activities and contribute to quality improvement initiatives related to wound and ostomy care.
• Support risk management by identifying practice gaps and recommending corrective actions or policy changes.
• Provide education and support to interdisciplinary team members across PHC.
• Offer input on staffing, space, equipment needs, and contribute to staff performance planning when requested
