Job summary

Extendicare is seeking a Nurse Specialized in Wound Ostomy & Continence (NSWOC) to join the ParaMed nursing health care team in a part-time community nursing role. The NSWOC will provide and promote evidence-based wound, ostomy and continence assessment, management, and care to diverse patient groups through consultative and direct patient care.

The role offers autonomy, a supportive team, ongoing training, and opportunities for career advancement.

Qualifications

• Must be a practicing RN with a valid license in good standing.
• NSWOC certification or course preferred.
• Minimum 2 years' RN experience in community or wound/ostomy/continence care.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct practice for wound, ostomy and continence care.
• Educate ParaMed’s nursing health care team, patient, and families.
• Provide consultation / clinical support to ParaMed’s nursing health care team (direct/or remote).
• Participate in wound/ostomy/continence leadership opportunities.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Precept ParaMed nurses as required.
• Follow evidence-based practices and ParaMed policies.
