Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. in Bedford, Nova Scotia, is seeking an electromechanic to join the Maintenance department. You will perform preventive maintenance, diagnose equipment issues, and support installation and repair of production line machinery.

This role requires a DEP in industrial electromechanics, up to 2 years' experience, and the ability to work under pressure on a night shift. The company offers overtime, weekly pay, benefits, and growth opportunities.

Qualifications

• 0 to 2 years of experience in industrial electromechanics.
• Hold a DEP in industrial electromechanics.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Familiarity with PLCs and relay controls is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Participate in preventive maintenance according to an established schedule.
• Disassemble, clean, inspect, repair and assemble mechanical, hydraulic and pneumatic equipment on production lines and equipment related to the operation of the building.
• Diagnose mechanical and electrical breakdowns and intervene on them with a sense of urgency.
• Understand what a grafcet is and know how to diagnose a problem related to an automated sequence.
• Participate in the continuous improvement of equipment. Propose solutions.
• Know how to weld with arc, mig and tig. Know how to use a blowtorch, bench grinder, portable grinder, etc.

Salary: $31.18 / hour + $1.75 night bonus

Under the responsibility of the maintenance supervisor, the electromechanic takes care of the maintenance, installation and repair of various equipment and machines in the department.
