Job summary

Nortera Foods Inc. is seeking an Industrial Maintenance Technician to join a team focused on keeping packaging and processing equipment running at full capacity.

You will troubleshoot, repair and perform preventive maintenance across a range of plant systems. The role requires mechanical expertise, experience with CMMS, and a collaborative mindset to support continuous improvement in a lean manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Industrial mechanic/millwright experience or apprentice with high mechanical aptitude.
• Experience in preventative maintenance, conveyors, pumps, hydraulics, welding, layout of work, electrical knowledge.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills; willingness to implement lean improvements.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, troubleshoot and repair packaging/processing equipment to keep processes at capacity.
• Answer calls to troubleshoot and repair equipment promptly and safely.
• Familiarize with our CMMS, perform inspections and PMs, create and track Work Orders.
• Prevent unnecessary breakdowns by performing PMs on all plant machinery.
• Identify root causes of downtime or slowdowns and drive improvements.
• Contribute to a positive team experience through equipment and process improvements.
• Work indoors, outdoors and in cold areas with safety and capacity as priorities.

Pay Range: $31.35-$42.00/hour

Your daily role:

• Responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting and repairing packaging/processing equipment. This role works closely with the Packaging/Processing Employees, Team Leaders and Supervisors to ensure all processes are available to operate at capacity stated
• Answering Packaging/Processing calls to troubleshoot and repair equipment to bring them back on line in a safe, timely manner
• Familiarizing yourself with our CMMS system, Perform and complete inspections and PM in the CMMS system, creating and following up on Work Orders as needed
• Helping prevent unnecessary breakdowns by inspecting and maintaining all plant machinery on a PM schedule
• Identify via troubleshooting root cause of asset(s) downtime/slow down from capacity
• Contributing to a positive employee experience through continuous improvement of the equipment and the business
• Working inside, outside and in cold areas with Safety and Capacity at the very front of all tasks

Your profile:

• Industrial Mechanic/Millwright/Apprentice/High Mechanical Experience
• High mechanical aptitude with a proven track record
• Experienced in preventative maintenance, conveying systems, pumps, hydraulics, troubleshooting, welding, the layout of work, electrical knowledge
• A tactful communicator with a willingness to solve problems using critical thinking skills
• Willing to share and implement ideas for continuous improvement as part of lean manufacturing initiatives
• Ability to work alone and make timely correct decisions as required
• Tig/mig welding and fabrication experience would be a great asset
