Job summary

Island Crisis Care Society is seeking a Community Support Worker for a 40-hour weekly schedule, Tuesday to Saturday, 11pm–7am. The role focuses on supporting vulnerable adults to improve life skills, safety, and independence within housing and community settings.

Qualifications include a diploma in a related human/social service field and at least one year of related experience, plus required licenses and a strong commitment to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Diploma in a related human / social service field.
• One year recent related experience. Or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Responsibilities

• Participates in assessment, goal setting and program planning for clients; documents and evaluates progress.
• Assists with life skills training such as meal prep, housekeeping, personal care, budgeting.
• Participates in client-focused activities per care plans.
• Supports clients to function independently in housing and community settings.
• Provides emotional support to residents and families.
• Identifies community services to meet clients’ needs.
