Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a Night Captain to deliver professional, guest-focused service during overnight hours. You will coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping, assist with parking and valet services, and handle bell and luggage duties to ensure a seamless guest experience.

The role requires previous guest service and F&B experience, bilingual communication, and Smart Serve certification.

Qualifications

• Previous guest service and food & beverage experience required.
• Excellent communication skills in both official languages.
• Smart Serve Certification required.
• Valid Driver’s License with no infractions.

Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service.
• Delivery of Food and Beverage orders.
• Co-ordinate and work with Front Office and Housekeeping Departments.
• Provide parking assistance upon arrival and departure of guest vehicles.
• Provide the guest with detailed parking fees and clear explanation of valet benefits.
• Work with the overnight Manager on duty.
• Luggage handling.
• Pick-up laundry and doorknob menus.
• Meet all guest needs in a pleasant, efficient and professional manner.
• Duties include: Shoeshine, In-Room Dining orders and Bell Services.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Reporting to the Concierge Leadership, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:
