Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a Night Captain to lead overnight operations and ensure superior guest service. You will handle Food and Beverage deliveries, coordinate with Front Office and Housekeeping, and assist guests with parking and valet details. This role requires exceptional communication, a valid driver’s license, and Smart Serve certification.

Qualifications

• Guest service experience in hospitality or related field.
• Bilingual communication skills in English and French are preferred.
• Smart Serve Certification is required.
• Valid driver's license with clean record.

Responsibilities

• Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service.
• Delivery of Food and Beverage orders.
• Coordinate and work with Front Office and Housekeeping Departments.
• Provide parking assistance upon arrival and departure of guest vehicles.
• Provide the guest with detailed parking fees and clear explanation of valet benefits.
• Work with the overnight Manager on duty.
• Pick-up laundry and doorknob menus.
• Meet all guest needs in a pleasant, efficient and professional manner.
• Duties include: Shoeshine, In-Room Dining orders and Bell Services.
• Other duties as assigned.

Job Description

Reporting to the Concierge Leadership, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Consistently offer professional, engaging and friendly service
• Delivery of Food and Beverage orders

• Valid Driver’s License with no infractions

Additional Information

Physical Aspects of Position (included but not limited to):

• Constant standing and walking throughout shift
• Physical ability to operate a vehicle (foot pedals, gear shift, steering wheel, etc.)
• Frequent bending and lifting (up to 50 lbs.)
