Job summary

Fairmont Château Laurier in Ottawa is seeking a Doorperson to warmly welcome arriving guests and present valet parking as the preferred hotel solution. This role supports a premium guest experience with professional, discreet service in a luxury setting.

You will greet guests and colleagues with warmth, securely manage keys, and clearly explain valet rates and guest benefits while guiding guests about local attractions and hotel amenities. Strong English and French communication is essential.

• Valid Driver’s License with no infractions.

• Securely label and store vehicle keys in locked locations.
• Clearly communicate valet rates and guest benefits.
• Maintain a smooth arrival experience by keeping entrances clear.
• Conduct vehicle inspections and document any pre-existing damage.
• Provide guidance on hotel amenities, dining, events, and local attractions.
• Respond to safety concerns and support hotel safety protocols.
• Operate all vehicle types, including manual transmissions, as required.
• Support overnight operations and perform duties as assigned.

Job Description

Reporting to the Valet Manager, responsibilities and essential job functions include but are not limited to the following:

• Warmly welcome arriving guests and confidently present valet parking as the preferred hotel parking solution.
• Deliver an exceptional luxury experience throughout every guest interaction.
• Greet guests and colleagues with professionalism, warmth, and genuine hospitality.
• Securely label and store all vehicle keys in designated locked locations.
• Clearly communicate valet rates and exclusive guest benefits.
• Maintain a smooth, elegant arrival experience by keeping entrances clear and traffic flowing efficiently.
• Conduct a meticulous vehicle inspection and document any pre-existing damage.
• Provide knowledgeable guidance on hotel amenities, dining, events, transportation, and local attractions.
• Retrieve guest belongings and fulfill special requests promptly and discreetly.
• Respond to emergency situations in accordance with hotel safety protocols.
• Promote guest and colleague safety by promptly reporting concerns to Security and Management.
• Consistently uphold Fairmont luxury service standards and valet excellence.
• Proactively address and report operational, safety, and appearance deficiencies.
• Confidently operate all vehicle types, including manual transmissions.
• Maintain flexibility to support overnight operations when required.
• Perform additional duties as assigned in support of the guest experience.
• Other duties as assigned
