Workland’s Ambulatory/Endoscopy Clinics department seeks a Patient Porter to assist with all aspects of patient care during the surgical experience, under appropriate supervision. The role includes maintaining stock, handling patient transfers, and ensuring safety and confidentiality within a multidisciplinary team.
Required are a secondary school diploma, patient porter experience, BLS, and the ability to work in a fast-paced hospital environment.
Assist with all aspects of patient care through all phases of the surgical experience under the direction of the appropriate health care professional as part of the multidisciplinary team. Be responsible for maintaining important stock items in the Ambulatory clinics. Assist with patient care including physical care as well as the provision of safety, confidentiality in a professional manner.
The Surgical Clinic operates several days a week in the Ambulatory Care Unit, handling minor surgical procedures, follow-up post-operative appointments and consultations. Day surgery patients (adults and children) receive pre and post-operative care in the day surgery department. A variety of services can have outpatient day surgery procedures: General surgery, Dental surgery, Ear, nose and throat, Orthopedics, Urology, Gynecology
