North Bay Regional Health Centre is seeking a detail-oriented ambulatory clinic support role focused on bed allocation, patient registration, and data integrity. Qualifications

  • Graduate in Medical Office Administration or equivalent
  • Experience in bed allocation, patient registration and data integrity
  • Typing 60 wpm with 95% accuracy; data entry 6200 kph with 95% accuracy
  • Medical Terminology Certificate required
  • Strong organizational, verbal and written communication; team-oriented
  • Advanced English/French bilingualism; French test may be required

Responsibilities

  • Assist with bed allocation and patient registration to support patient flow
  • Maintain data integrity and census reporting; monitor for accuracy
  • Utilize Meditech and MS Office tools to document and track information
  • Uphold infection control principles and participate in quality improvement
  • Work with health team and external stakeholders to ensure patient-centred care

Department: Ambulatory Clinics
QUALIFICATIONS
Certification/Experience/Knowledge
  • Graduate of a Community College in the Medical Office Administration Program or equivalent required
  • Experience in Bed Allocation / Patient Registration / Data Integrity is required
  • Keyboarding skills (60 wpm/95% accuracy) and Data Entry Skills (6200 kph/95% accuracy) required
  • Medical Terminology Certificate required
  • Excellent demonstrated organizational, communication (verbal/written) and interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health team required
Skills/Abilities
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision required
  • Ability to work in a fast paced high stress environment with the ability to perform multiple tasks over a short period of time
  • Demonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of external stakeholders to ensure patient focussed care delivery and patient flow
  • Experience with data integrity, data entry, census reporting required
  • Knowledge of infection control principles required
  • Experience with quality and process improvement required
  • Must be available for scheduled shifts and call-ins
  • Knowledge of computer applications; Meditech, Word, Excel, Critical and MOHLTC census tool
  • Good attendance and work record required
  • Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
  • Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
