Randstad Canada is seeking a Heavy Duty Mechanic – Mobile Service for Alberta travel, with a 7-on / 7-off schedule. The role offers a highly competitive hourly wage of $53.42 plus overtime potential and a fully equipped service truck.

You will troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar and other industrial equipment in the field, using SIS/ET systems, while maintaining documentation and strong safety practices across Alberta and the Northwest Territories.

Qualifications

• Journeyperson Heavy Equipment Technician (Red Seal)
• Dual ticket (HET/Truck & Transport or Millwright) asset
• Valid Class 5 driver’s license with a clean abstract
• Experience with Caterpillar equipment and SIS/ET systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety-first mindset
• Excellent communication, documentation, and organizational skills
• Comfortable working in remote environments

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair Caterpillar and other mechanical equipment in the field
• Use Caterpillar SIS and ET systems daily
• Complete accurate service documentation (work orders, warranty reports, crossover notes)
• Collaborate with Service Supervisors, Lead Hands, and the larger technical team
• Maintain strong communication with customers and internal stakeholders
• Follow all safety protocols while working independently in remote environments

Schedule: 7 days on / 7 days off – continuous shift

Compensation: $53.42/hour

Overtime: Paid OT and double time based on customer/site requirements
