Job summary

Regent Christian Online Academy seeks an Education Assistant to support in-class instruction in Nanaimo. The role focuses on inclusive education, assisting teachers with attendance, materials, and small groups under the guidance of the Inclusive Education Coordinator.

The position is part-time, 9:00 am–2:30 pm, Mondays and Thursdays with one Friday per month, onsite. Pay ranges from CA $24.05 to $30.32 per hour, with extended health, dental, and a pension plan upon eligibility.

Qualifications

• Experience and/or EA certification highly valued.
• Experience working with school-aged children or special needs is advantageous but not required.
• Candidates must embody Christian values and demonstrate empathy and enthusiasm.

Responsibilities

• Assist in inclusive classrooms to support all students, including those with disabilities.
• Attend IEP meetings and provide observations and data to inform goals.
• Prepare lesson materials and adaptations for identified student needs under guidance of teachers/IEC.
• Supervise routines and support transitions to ensure student well-being.
• Contribute to logs and data collection for progress reporting.
• Model Christian conduct and uphold school mission and values.
