A regional healthcare provider in Ontario is searching for an MSW or MHC-M to support crisis intervention alongside the police in Grey and Bruce Counties. This role involves working closely with law enforcement to assist individuals facing mental health challenges. Required qualifications include a master's degree in Social Work or related fields and at least 5 years of relevant community experience. The candidate must also pass Level 4 Security Clearance and have excellent knowledge of community resources. Shift work is involved, requiring flexibility and travel within designated areas.
Reporting to the Manager, Mental Health and Addiction Services, the MSW or MHC‑M is responsible for working in a dedicated capacity supporting both the South Bruce and Grey Bruce Ontario Provincial Police (OPP). This role will be embedded in an OPP detachment within Grey and Bruce Counties (Wiarton, Chatsworth, Meaford, Kincardine and Walkerton) and will respond with uniform officers to assist with de‑escalation, community referrals, diversion, and appropriate facilitation of transition to acute care where required to help ensure positive outcomes for the individual. The MSW or MHC‑M will also act as a resource to officers, as necessary. This role will include duties and responsibilities specific to both live calls with police, as well as referral‑based follow-up support to individuals and caregivers/family members, and system navigation/service coordination, as well as support for short‑term (transitional) case management services. This position involves shift work and requires travel within the catchment area of Grey and Bruce Counties, either co‑responding in a personal vehicle or riding in a police vehicle.
