We are excited to offer an opportunity to join our team as a Mould Maintenance Technician at Hamilton Kent, a leading company in rubber gasket manufacturing. LOCATION: HK - Toronto

SHIFT: Monday to Friday, 7AM to 3PM or 3PM to 11PM

Position Summary: The Mold Maintenance Technician will focus on preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, cleaning, and storage of all onsite injection and compression molds. The goal is to ensure molds are well maintained to meet production needs and manufacturer specifications.

Principal Responsibilities:

1. Identify and resolve root causes of injection and compression mold machine issues when machines stop working.
2. Remove, install, set up, and hand over fully operational injection/compression machines according to schedule.
3. Operate mobile material handling equipment for machinery installation, setup, and repair.
4. Inspect, diagnose, maintain, and repair all injection and compression molds.
5. Use tools safely and competently to assemble/disassemble molds and operate machine tools.
6. Perform preventive maintenance, including stripping, cleaning, replacing parts, and storing molds and cold runners.
7. Collaborate with other employees during plant shutdowns and non-operational periods to restore equipment swiftly.
8. Maintain good housekeeping and adhere to safety policies and practices.
9. Support and follow the 5S program.
10. Ensure proper disposal of chemicals as per labels and guidelines.
11. Catalog and inventory mold parts and tooling.
12. Perform other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:

• Strong mechanical skills and aptitude.
• Troubleshooting skills on molding machines are required.
• Knowledge of injection molding machines is required.
• Experience in rubber or plastics manufacturing is preferred.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented.
• Problem-solving skills.
• Effective communication skills, both written and oral.
