Webber-Road Maintenance Technician-Infrastructure Management

Position Summary

Responsible for maintenance, servicing, and repairs of roads and infrastructure assets. This includes maintaining contracted assets such as roadways, medians, signs, guardrails, fences, bridges, tunnels, vegetation, etc., according to contract standards and supervisor directives.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities
  • Set up and remove traffic control devices to ensure safe maintenance of traffic.
  • Work at heights using bucket trucks, scaffolding, ladders, and aerial platforms.
  • Perform basic maintenance and repairs on bridge structures and equipment rooms.
  • Maintain roadway features like catch basins, sumps, pumps, fire hydrants, and other mechanical assets.
  • Maintain ventilation systems in equipment rooms.
  • Repair electrical systems including emergency telephones, CCTV, traffic signs, call boxes, lane signals, and lighting.
  • Transport crew and equipment to work sites using large trucks and specialized vehicles.
  • Be available for emergency response rotations, including overtime, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Contribute to a diverse and inclusive work environment.
  • Follow company policies and procedures.
  • Maintain and repair highway surfaces, including potholes, striping, and reflectors.
  • Keep highways clean from debris and litter.
  • Repair slopes, berms, culverts, and drains.
  • Control vegetation using mowing equipment, trimmers, and chemicals.
  • Maintain signs, guardrails, fences, and lighting.
  • Perform snow removal and sanding to keep roadways clear.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
  • Knowledge of underground infrastructure maintenance.
  • Practice safe work methods and use PPE.
  • Recognize hazards and adjust work practices accordingly.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Basic math skills and ability to interpret instructions and manuals.
  • Flexibility and ownership of responsibilities.
  • Knowledge of materials and tools used in concrete and asphalt repair.
  • Skill in using hand and power tools.
  • Professional interaction with the public.
Education and Experience
  • HS Diploma or GED required.
  • At least 1 year of experience in infrastructure maintenance (preferred).
  • Valid DZ, BZ, or AZ driver’s license with a good driving record required.
Work Conditions and Physical Demands

Exposure to traffic, weather, chemicals, insects, and possibly reptiles/rodents. Moderate noise level, with occasional higher noise. Physical requirements include standing, walking, climbing, lifting up to 50 pounds, working at heights, and in confined spaces.
