Job summary

First National Financial LP is hiring a Mortgage Underwriter for Third Party Residential Underwriting in Vancouver. The role involves rendering credit decisions within authorized limits, reviewing documents for accuracy, and maintaining strong relationships with mortgage brokers and insurers.

The successful candidate will have at least 2 years of underwriting experience, knowledge of AML requirements, and a post-secondary education or equivalent.

Qualifications

• Completed post-secondary education or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum 2 years previous mortgage underwriting experience required.
• Completion of Mortgage Agent Course and/or BC Financial Services Authority (BCFSA) License an asset.

Responsibilities

• Render credit decisions on incoming applications within approved limits.
• Adhere to company and insurer policies and guidelines while focusing on service excellence.
• Review required documentation to ensure accuracy and protect the company from risk.
• Establish and maintain relationships with mortgage brokers and external partners.
• Issue mortgage commitments with appropriate conditions within SLAs.
