Job summary

Commissionaires Nanaimo is seeking a dedicated Mobile Patrol security professional to join our team on Vancouver Island. You will perform patrols, alarm responses, and site checks, reporting with clear, timely documentation while upholding safety and customer service standards.

Responsibilities include operating patrol vehicles, incident reporting, and assisting in training new drivers; shifts are full-time, with evening or overnight hours, in a respectful, inclusive work environment and career

Qualifications

• Must possess a valid BC security workers licence.
• Must possess a valid BC driver's licence with a clean abstract.
• Excellent problem solving and professional report writing.
• Ability to work under pressure with a calm demeanor.
• Proficient at operating equipment such as cell phones and two-way radios.

Responsibilities

• Safely operate a Mobile Patrol motor vehicle.
• Conduct security checks at client sites according to directives.
• Utilize company cell phones, two-way radios and Tracktik app.
• Respond to alarm events at client sites as needed.
• Conduct House Watch patrols when necessary.
• Attend lone worker sites to check on workers.
• Prepare incident and shift reports including Run Sheets and related reports.
• Report for shifts on time and maintain professional appearance.
• Report unsafe incidents or issues.
• Perform vehicle checks at start of shifts and report issues.
• Maintain proper key control and vehicle cleanliness.
• Promote a respectful workplace with a professional attitude.
• Assist in training of new Patrol Drivers.
• Complete any additional assignments as instructed by the Client Service Manager.

Wage: $22.25/hr - $24.40/hr

Shift Times: 1530 – 2330 or 2330 – 0730

Reports to: Mobile Supervisor

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

• Safely operating a Mobile Patrol motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and regulations;
• Conducting security checks at client sites according to directives, standards and post orders;
• Utilize company cell phones, two-way radios and Tracktik phone app;
• Conducting alarm response to client sites as needed;
• Conducting House Watch patrol if necessary;
• Attending lone worker sites to check on workers when requested;
• Ensuring incident and shift reports are completed including Run Sheets, Vehicle Inspection reports, Key Muster reports, Tracktik reports, Alarm reports and Inventory reports;
• Reporting for shifts on time, and maintaining proper dress and deportment at all times;
• Reporting any unsafe incidents, practices and/or issues;
• Conducting vehicle checks at start of shifts and ensuring any issues are reported accurately;
• Being respectful towards tools/equipment and ensuring proper key control at all times;
• Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and washed as required;
• Maintaining high standard of work ethic and professionalism;
• Promoting a respectful workplace by displaying a courteous, professional attitude;
• Keeping management aware of any unusual incidents;
• Assisting in the training of new Patrol Drivers, and setting a good example at all times;
• Completing any additional assignment as instructed by the Client Service Manager for Mobile Patrols.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Must possess a valid B.C. security workers licence.
• Must possess a valid BC driver's licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
• You have excellent problem solving skills and professional report writing.
• You can work under pressure and have a calm demeanor.
• You are proficient at operating equipment such as cell phones and two-way radios.

• Able to work independently, especially in the evenings and overnight.
• Provide superior customer service to clients and general public.
• Provide access control and security foot patrols as needed.
• Proactively respond to and resolve emergency situations and conflicts.
• Complete evacuation and emergency response procedures.
• Communicate problems or concerns to the supervisor.
• Possess excellent multi-tasking, problem solving, prioritizing and organizational abilities.
