Job summary

Commissionaires Victoria, the Islands & Yukon is hiring for Mobile Patrol Drivers to safeguard airports, schools, government facilities and other sites across Vancouver Island and the Yukon.

You will operate patrol vehicles, perform site checks, respond to alarms, and complete detailed reports using Tracktik. A valid BC security worker licence and BC driver's licence with a clean abstract are required, plus strong problem-solving and independent, evening or overnight availability.

Qualifications

• BC security worker licence required.

• Able to work under pressure with a calm demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Safely operating Mobile Patrol vehicle in compliance with laws and directives.
• Conduct security checks at client sites per post orders.
• Use Tracktik phone app for reporting and communications.
• Respond to alarms at client sites as needed.
• Conduct House Watch patrols when required.
• Attend lone worker sites to check on workers when requested.
• Complete incident and shift reports (Run Sheets, Vehicle Inspections, Key Muster, Tracktik, Alarm, Inventory).
• Report on-time for shifts and maintain professional appearance.

Location: Victoria

Wage: $22.25/hr - $25.11/hr

Reports to: Mobile Manager

Job Responsibilities:

• Safely operating a Mobile Patrol motor vehicle in accordance with all laws and regulations;
• Conducting security checks at client sites according to directives, standards and post orders;
• Utilize company cell phones, two-way radios and Tracktik phone app;
• Conducting alarm response to client sites as needed;
• Conducting House Watch patrol if necessary;
• Attending lone worker sites to check on workers when requested;
• Ensuring incident and shift reports are completed including Run Sheets, Vehicle Inspection reports, Key Muster reports, Tracktik reports, Alarm reports and Inventory reports;
• Reporting for shifts on time, and maintaining proper dress and deportment at all times;
• Reporting any unsafe incidents, practices and/or issues;
• Conducting vehicle checks at start of shifts and ensuring any issues are reported accurately;
• Being respectful towards tools/equipment and ensuring proper key control at all times;
• Ensuring vehicles are kept clean and washed as required;
• Maintaining high standard of work ethic and professionalism;
• Promoting a respectful workplace by displaying a courteous, professional attitude;
• Keeping management aware of any unusual incidents;
• Assisting in the training of new Patrol Drivers, and setting a good example at all times;
• Completing any additional assignment as instructed by the Client Service Manager for Mobile Patrols.

Your Must-Haves:

• A valid B.C. security workers licence.
• A valid BC driver's licence with a clean driver’s abstract.
• Excellent problem solving skills and professional report writing.
• Work under pressure and have a calm demeanor.
• Proficient at operating equipment such as cell phones and two-way radios.
• Able to work independently, especially in the evenings and overnight.
