Job summary

Rush Truck Centres of Canada is seeking a Mobile Lube Technician (Licensed 310T) to maintain client fleets and service at client locations. Based in Sudbury, the role operates four 10-hour shifts weekly with a $2.00/hr mobile premium.

Responsibilities include diagnostics, basic maintenance, inventory control on the service truck, and accurate documentation. OHSA compliance and excellent customer service are essential as you support our growing fleet operations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Licensed Truck and Coach Technician (310T) preferred.
  • SAP experience is an asset.
  • Valid G Class driver’s license with air brake endorsement (Z) required.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure OHSA regulations and company safety policies are followed.
  • Maintain all equipment per company standards.
  • Perform basic truck maintenance including fueling, oil checks, cleaning, and inspections.
  • Manage service truck inventory and keep vehicle stocked.
  • Report to the Service Manager and receive daily tasks.
  • Be available for after-hours service calls and flexible schedule.
  • Read job orders, diagnose malfunctions, and plan repair procedures.
  • Use diagnostic equipment and manuals to determine repairs.
  • Inspect guards, bolts and safety devices; adjust as needed.
  • Lubricate moving parts and verify repairs meet specifications.
  • Document work in the mobile service program and submit paperwork timely.
  • Communicate with customers about repairs and upcoming services.

The Mobile Lube Technician ( Licensed 310T Mechanic) is responsible for maintaining the fleet for clients and handling service calls at client locations. Provide service to our customers while maintaining exceptional customer service. This can include cleaning, maintenance, visual inspection, and removal of parts and attachments. Installation with the help of proper manuals, report writing, disassembly, assembly, parts reuse evaluation, and reconditioning. This is a full-time role based out of our Sudbury location and will be working 4 days a week with a 10-hour shift each day, plus a $2.00/hr mobile premium.

Responsibilities
  • Ensure compliance with all Occupational Health and Safety Act (OHSA) regulations, as well as the Company's Health and Safety Policy.
  • Maintain all aspects of equipment according to company standards.
  • Responsibilities include working as a Mobile Technician and in our Sudbury location.
  • Handle basic maintenance of the truck, including filling the tank with fuel, checking oil, keeping it clean, and making sure required inspections are performed and documented as assigned.
  • Manage inventory control on the service truck and for keeping the vehicle properly stocked.
  • Report to the Service Manager and will be assigned duties on a daily basis.
  • Maintain availability for after-hours service calls and be available for an open work schedule.
  • Maintain and inventory the supplied tools for the work required in maintaining diesel engine trucks and associated equipment
  • Read job order and observes and listens to vehicle in operation to determine malfunction and to plan work procedures.
  • Utilize various diagnostic equipment to determine malfunction and utilize available technical information to determine and perform correct repair procedure.
  • Knowledge of Diagnosis, removal and replacement of fan hubs, fifth wheels, checks and changes batteries, starters, alternators, airlines, glad hands, brake chambers, mirrors, lights, coolant and oil and hydraulic lines and other related components.
  • Beginning knowledge of Diagnosis of tailgates and hydraulics.
  • Perform all necessary diagnostic and documentation functions on the company computer system.
  • Examine protective guards, loose bolts, and specified safety devices on trucks, and make adjustments.
  • Lubricate moving parts and drives repaired vehicle to verify conformance to specifications.
  • Perform preventative maintenance work; oil and filter change and grease work as requested.
  • Document and submit necessary paperwork or enter into mobile service program as work performed in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Respond to customer inquiries regarding the work. Foster positive customer relations.
  • Advise customer and/or service writer of any repairs or services which should be performed within the next 3 months.
  • Participate in training and utilize that training in the course of work.
Basic Qualifications
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
  • SAP experience is an asset
  • Licensed Truck and Coach Technician (310T)
  • Must have a valid G Class driver's license with air brake endorsement "Z".
