Job summary

AVI Health & Community Services seeks a Crisis Responder for the CRCL Victoria Team to provide rapid mobile crisis support and de-escalation for youth and adults experiencing mental health or substance use crises.

You will conduct assessments, safety planning, and referrals within a trauma-informed, harm-reduction framework, partnering with peers and community providers to stabilize clients and connect them to ongoing care.

Qualifications

• This is not entry level — minimum 3–5 years relevant experience in mental health services including crisis de-escalation and mobile crisis response.
• Experience navigating mental health and emergency services and knowledge of harm reduction and trauma-informed approaches.

Responsibilities

• Provide acute mobile crisis support and de-escalation for individuals aged 13 and up.
• Assess, intervene, and develop safety plans.
• Coordinate referrals to services and escalation to emergency care when needed.
• Work within a person-centered, harm-reduction, trauma-informed framework.
• Engage in collaboration with team members and other care providers.
