Job summary

AVI Health and Community Services (AVI) is a multi‑disciplinary community organization delivering HIV, hepatitis C, harm reduction and mental health services on Vancouver Island. The CRCL team provides acute mobile crisis support and de‑escalation for youth 13+ and adults, coordinating with community resources to ensure timely, trauma‑informed care.

Qualifications

• Degree in the mental health field (counselling, social work, psychiatric nursing).
• Crisis intervention skills and experience with crisis lines or dispatch.
• Strong cultural competency and trauma‑informed approach to care.
• Valid Class 5 BC Driver's License and clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Screen and triage crisis calls via central line; develop safety plans.
• Dispatch CRCL teams and coordinate with internal AVI programs.
• Provide non‑judgmental emotional support and crisis intervention, including risk assessment.
• Maintain confidential client files and community care plans.
• Collaborate with Indigenous communities and resources to support care.
