Job summary

Coeur Silvertip mine, located in British Columbia, just 10 miles south of the Yukon border, is seeking a Water Treatment Operator to work in a camp-based environment rotating on a two week in/two week out shift rotation.

Responsibilities include operating the Water Treatment Plant, handling reagents per Safe Operating Procedures, running lab samples, monitoring the mill tailings circuit discharge, performing pre-operational checks, and completing logs; night shifts and unsupervised work are

Qualifications

• Operating a water treatment plant.
• 3 years’ operating experience in a water treatment plant.
• Mining industry experience desired.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Physically fit to perform the duties of the position.
• Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce.

Responsibilities

• Operate water treatment plant.
• Handle and mix reagents according to Safe Operating Procedures and BC Mines Act.
• Must be willing to work night shift.
• Must be able to work unsupervised.
• Capable of running samples though the lab in the WTP.
• Monitor the mill tailings circuit discharge.
• Perform pre-operational checks, and operate equipment according to Safe Operating Procedures.
• Monitor equipment and processes and ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are reported clearly and quickly.
• Conduct troubleshooting activities when problems arise.
• Complete Operator Report Sheets, computerized data entry, and Daily Logbook.
