Job summary

The Coeur Silvertip mine in British Columbia seeks a certified Electrician for a camp-based role on a two-week-in/two-week-out schedule with 12-hour shifts. You will read schematics, install and maintain electrical systems, test equipment, and perform preventive maintenance in a remote camp environment.

Qualifications include a Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman's certificate, experience with 4160/600V systems, and fiber optic knowledge.

Qualifications

• Valid Red Seal or Interprovincial Journeyman's Certificate as an Electrician.
• Experience with 4160 & 600 volt systems.
• Fundamental knowledge of Fiber Optic systems.
• Experience with PLC design and programming is an asset.
• Camp experience is a plus.
• Valid driver's license.
• Physically fit to perform the duties.
• Ability to work with a diverse cross-cultural workforce.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, schematics and electrical code specifications to determine layout of industrial electrical equipment installations.
• Install, examine, replace or repair electrical wiring, receptacles, switch boxes, conduits, feeders, fiber-optic and coaxial cable assemblies, lighting fixtures and other electrical components.
• Test electrical and electronic equipment and components for continuity, current, voltage and resistance.
• Maintain, repair, install and test switchgear, transformers, switchboard meters, regulators and reactors.
• Respond to critical callouts as needed.
• Conduct preventive maintenance programs and keep maintenance records.
• May install, maintain and calibrate industrial instrumentation and related devices.
• Perform pre-operational checks, and operate equipment according to Safe Operating Procedures.
• Monitor equipment and processes and ensure equipment deficiencies and operational issues are reported clearly.
• Conduct trouble shooting activities when problems arise.
• Complete Report Sheets and Daily Logbooks.
