Job summary

Northwest Employment Works is seeking a Water Treatment Technician for the Hemlo Mine Site, Mill Department. You will operate, monitor, and maintain the portable water treatment plant to meet regulatory standards and supply site facilities safely.

This remote role requires strong analytical skills, documentation discipline, and ability to work 12-hour shifts on a 7/7 rotation. Post-secondary certification in water treatment is preferred, with Grade 12 mandatory.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 diploma or equivalent is required.
• Post-secondary water treatment certification preferred.
• Experience with portable industrial water treatment preferred.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills required.

Responsibilities

• Operate, monitor, and maintain water treatment systems.
• Ensure water quality meets regulatory standards.
• Perform inspections and preventative maintenance on equipment.
• Conduct water sampling and testing for compliance.
• Document and report data for audits and standards.
• Follow safety protocols and environment guidelines.
• Identify hazards and implement corrective measures.
• Report data and maintenance activities to supervisors.
• Collaborate with environmental and Mill Operations teams.
