Job summary

KIT Recruitment is seeking a certified Millwright (433A) for a leading food manufacturer just outside London, Ontario. You will support the installation and maintenance of plant equipment and collaborate with the Maintenance Supervisor on continuous improvement initiatives.

This role involves a 12-hour continental shift, with pay starting at $45.94/hr and increasing to $48.86/hr once the Class B Refrigeration Operator License is obtained. Benefits after 90 days and RRSP match are available.

Qualifications

• Certified Millwright with 433A license.
• Experience installing and maintaining plant equipment.
• Willingness to obtain Class B Refrigeration Operator License (in-house support).
• Experience in continuous process manufacturing is an asset.
• Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting abilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical expertise for installation and maintenance of plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues and identify root causes.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and work order tasks.
• Identify risks in fast-paced production areas and help minimize downtime.
• Complete maintenance reports and logs for effective systems.
• Maintain clean and organized work areas and shop.
• Communicate with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to food safety, quality, and safety policies.
• Collaborate with maintenance team under the Maintenance Supervisor.

Millwright – Role Details

• Shift: 12-hour continental shift, rotating every 2 weeks (6:30am – 6:30pm & 6:30pm – 6:30am)
• Rate: $45.94 (Millwright), increasing to $48.86/Hr. (once B License is obtained)

Millwright Responsibilities

• Provide mechanical expertise in the installation and maintenance of plant equipment.
• Troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues, identifying root causes and continuous improvement opportunities.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and work order tasks.
• Identify potential risks in fast-paced production areas and work collaboratively to minimize downtime.
• Complete maintenance reports and logs to support effective maintenance systems.
• Maintain excellent housekeeping practices in work areas and the maintenance shop.
• Communicate effectively with other departments to ensure smooth operations.
• Adhere to all food safety, quality, and safety policies.
• Collaborate with the maintenance team, reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor.

Millwright Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• A valid Millwright license (433A) required.
• Experience within manufacturing is an asset.
• Willingness to obtain a Class “B” Refrigeration Operator License (supported in-house)
• Experience as a millwright or maintenance technician in continuous process manufacturing.
• Solid mechanical troubleshooting ability and a proactive problem-solving mindset.
• Excellent attendance, reliability, and strong communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and collaborate in a team environment.
• Must be comfortable with 12-hour rotating shifts and overtime as needed.
