Job summary

Sofina Foods Inc. in Burlington, Ontario is seeking a licensed 433A Industrial Mechanic Millwright for a full-time night shift (11pm–7:30am) at a pork processing facility. The role offers $44.25/hour plus a $2 overnight premium and requires flexibility with end times based on production.

You will maintain all plant machinery, perform PMs and CM work orders, install equipment, and troubleshoot a range of conveyors, pumps, grinders, welding, and packaging lines while following GMP rules.

Qualifications

• Must have a 433A license.
• Fast-paced manufacturing environment experience.
• Able to lift 50 pounds unassisted.
• Able to work in extreme heat or cold.
• Must be 18+ and legally eligible to work in Canada.
• Must communicate and understand English.
• Must have own tools.
• Must have experience as a Millwright.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant.
• Perform PMs, PDMs, CM and work orders on equipment.
• Repair and install conveyors, pumps, grinders and packaging lines.
• Troubleshoot and repair equipment; TIG welding as needed.
• Work in a team environment and follow GMP rules.

• Location: 821 Appleby Line, Burlington Ontario


• Nights Schedule – Monday to Friday – 11pm to 7:30am


• Hourly Rate: $44.25/hour plus $2 overnight premium


• End times vary based on production, flexibility will be necessary


• We are a Pork processing facility

Job Tasks:

• Must comply with all safety regulations, to provide a safe working environment for themselves and the workers in the plant


• Maintain all mechanical equipment in the plant


• Performs PMs, PDMs, CM and regular work orders on equipment


• Must be able to multitask and prioritize their work load


• Can repair and work on; conveyors, industrial equipment, pumps, grinders, welding equipment, lathes, power tools, fans, blowers, hydraulic systems, packaging equipment and pneumatic equipment


• Must be a proficient TIG welder


• Must be proficient at repairs and troubleshooting


• Must be able to work in a team type environment


• Full knowledge of hand and power tools


• Installation of equipment


• Follows GMP rules and GMP for Maintenance rules


• Carry out oral or printed work requests and apply corrective actions


• Account for inventory and labour on a computerized maintenance program
