Join a forward-thinking research unit dedicated to enhancing the health and well-being of aging populations. As a Data Coordinator, you will play a vital role in managing data accuracy for a groundbreaking national study. This position offers the chance to work with a diverse team, ensuring participant engagement and data integrity. You will utilize your attention to detail and problem-solving skills to contribute to meaningful research that impacts lives. If you're passionate about data management and making a difference, this part-time role is perfect for you.
About Us: The Institute on Aging is a research unit whose mission is to promote the health and well-being of the adult and aging populations in our local community, state, and society at large through excellence in multidisciplinary research, education, and outreach. For the past 2.5 decades, the IOA has led a large national study of health and well-being in 11,000+ American adults. Known as MIDUS (Midlife in the US), the study examines inner influences of emotion, personality, biology, genetics, and neuroscience as well as the outer influences of work and family life, class, culture, and race/ethnicity to understand trajectories of health across the decades of adult life. Data from MIDUS are publicly available and are used by thousands of researchers all over the world. To date, 2,000+ publications have been generated across diverse fields. The study is also used by graduate students around the U.S. to complete masters and doctoral degrees.
Are you interested in contributing your skills to this ground-breaking study? Are you looking to join a diverse team of individuals who care about advancing knowledge of health and well-being in adulthood and later life? Do you have an affinity for accuracy and a drive for detail in managing complex data? Look no further than the MIDUS Data Coordinator position at the Institute on Aging. The incumbent will work with a small team and have responsibilities that are crucial for managing the accuracy of the data collected and for keeping in touch with participants to foster goodwill and maintain current contact information.
The MIDUS Data Coordinator will report to the MIDUS Data Engineer and work closely with members of the MIDUS Biomarker Project to enter study data into our database. The MIDUS Data Coordinator will also send out correspondence to the MIDUS participants and process mailing returns by tracing contact information and entering the new information into the database. The qualities that would make for a successful Data Coordinator include attention to detail, an aptitude for problem-solving, capability to handle confidential information, and the ability to work independently once familiar with job responsibilities.
