Job summary

BayCare is seeking a Bariatric Office Coordinator to manage the Metabolic and Bariatric Weight Loss Program at St. Joseph’s Hospital. You will manage referrals, verify insurance, and coordinate scheduling for surgeons, dietitians, therapists, and pharmacists.

You will handle patient education, registration, and payments, ensure documentation, support accreditation, and collaborate with physician offices to maintain smooth operations and a positive patient experience.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or GED is required.
• Associates degree is preferred.
• 3 years of Admitting/Registration experience is required.
• 3 years of experience in a physician office.
• 4 years in an administrative/clerical healthcare role.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily operations of the Metabolic and Bariatric Weight Loss Program, including referrals, tracking leads, insurance verification and patient eligibility review.
• Coordinate scheduling across a multidisciplinary team (surgeons, dietitians, therapists, pharmacists, psychologists).
• Ensure all required documentation and clearances are completed for surgery.
• Provide patient education, registration, and administrative support including insurance verification and payment collection.
• Collaborate with physician offices and internal teams to maintain efficient workflows and support accreditation and compliance.
