Job summary

BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL, seeks a dedicated Mental Health Technician to join a compassionate team at St. Joseph Main. You will provide direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under RN supervision and help monitor safety and wellbeing.

This full-time, on-site role requires a high school diploma, preferred CNA or Patient Care Technician credentials, and BLS certification. Benefits include health/vision/dental, PTO, tuition reimbursement, 401k match, and annual bonuses.

Qualifications

• BLS certification required.
• CNA or Patient Care Technician preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct supervision of a Registered Nurse.
• Provides ongoing monitoring and observation of patients to ensure safety and wellbeing.
• Promotes communication and therapeutic relationships with patients.

Mental Health Technician Position Details

• Facility: St. Jospeh Main
• Location: Tampa, FL
• Status: Full time, Hourly
• Shift Hours: 6:45 AM - 7:15 PM
• Weekend Work: Every Other
• On Call: No

The Mental Health Technician Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care to psychiatric inpatients under the direct Supervision of a Registered Nurse.

Required

Certification/Licensures

• BLS (Basic Life Support)
• CNA (Nursing Assistant) - preferred

Experience

• 6 months – Psychology or Bachelor's degree in related field
