BayCare Health System in Tampa, FL is seeking a Medical Assistant or LPN to support clinical operations by assisting providers and delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient workflows within the practice.

The role requires a High School diploma; completion of a Medical Assistant program is preferred; active MA certification or a license such as EMT/NREMT/Paramedic/LPN within six months of hire is acceptable. Schedule is full-time, onsite, days, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM.

Shift: Days | Monday – Friday, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite

Status: Non-Exempt

Weekend Work: None

On Call: No

Role Overview

As a Medical Assistant or LPN, you will support clinical operations by assisting providers and delivering high-quality patient care while ensuring efficient workflows within the practice.

Key Responsibilities Include

• Assisting providers with patient examinations, procedures, and treatments
• Obtaining patient histories and preparing patients for visits
• Performing routine lab procedures and preparing specimens for transport to the lab
• Following up on test orders and communicating results to providers and patients
• Maintaining patient education materials
• Creating and updating patient records in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Maintaining medical equipment and clinical supplies
• Ensuring compliance with OSHA and CLIA regulations
• Performing other duties as assigned

Required Qualifications Education

• High School Diploma or equivalent (GED)

Preferred

• Completion of a Medical Assistant program or related technical training

Preferred Experience

• Medical Assistant experience

Licensure / Certification Required

• Approved Medical Assistant Certification within six (6) months of hire OR proof of active license/certification as one of the following:
  • EMT (Emergency Medical Technician)
  • NREMT (Nationally Registered Emergency Medical Technician)
  • Paramedic
  • Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN)
