Qualifications

• Experience as a Medical Laboratory Assistant or closely related role.
• Reliable, flexible and motivated with the ability to work in a fast-paced lab.
• Willingness to perform ECG testing as required.

Responsibilities

• Take blood samples from patients.
• Prepare blood and other specimens for analysis.
• Perform routine laboratory tests.
• Distribute specimens to laboratory departments and external labs.
• Operate related laboratory equipment.
• Enter data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS).
• Perform related clerical duties and ECG testing when required.

About The Job

The Medical Laboratory Assistant performs a variety of duties within the Laboratory such as taking blood samples from patients, preparing blood and other specimens for analysis, performing routine lab tests, distributing specimens to Laboratory departments and outside Laboratories, operating related equipment, entering data into the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and performing related clerical duties. They shall also perform ECG testing as required.

This is a Relief Part Time (0.73) opportunity until return of the incumbent.

Shifts of work will be scheduled day and evening shifts.
