Job summary

Northern Health is seeking a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician to support decontamination, sterilization, reassembly and testing of medical and surgical supplies for multiple hospital areas. This role emphasizes accuracy, attention to detail and teamwork in a busy healthcare environment.

Under supervision, you will handle clerical duties and record keeping while adhering to mission, values and safety standards.

Qualifications

• Grade 12 and Medical Device Reprocessing course completed.
• One year of related experience or equivalent.
• Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
• Ability to communicate and interact effectively with others.

Job description

Position Summary

Are you a Medical Device Reprocessing Technician looking to highlight your knowledge, skills, and abilities in a new and dynamic environment? We currently have an opportunity for you to bring your excellent work ethic to Northern Health.

In accordance with the established mission, vision, values, and strategic priorities of Northern Health, and under the general supervision of Manager or designate, this position performs a series of detailed technical duties related to the decontamination, sterilization, reassembly, function testing and distribution of medical and/or surgical supplies and instruments for various areas of the hospital; and performs related clerical duties and record keeping.

Shift Rotation/Hours of work

Monday to Friday, Days - 07:00 to 15:00, 08:00 to 16:00

Qualfications

• Grade 12, successful completion of a recognized Medical Device Reprocessing course, plus one (1) year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Skills and Abilities:

• Knowledge of surgical and medical terminology.
• Mathematical aptitude.
• Ability to communicate and deal effectively with others.
• Ability to operate related equipment.
• Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
• Ability to organize work.
