Job summary

Interior Health in Nelson, BC is seeking a Relief Full Time Medical Device Reprocessing Technician | Perioperative Aide at Kootenay Lake Hospital. You will support the operating room by preparing sterile supplies, positioning patients and handling perioperative equipment.

Shifts include days and evenings, typically 07:00–15:00, 07:30–15:30 or 08:30–16:30. This is a relief position until the return of the incumbent, with benefits such as employee assistance, training opportunities, vacation,

• One year's recent related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience

Responsibilities

• You will perform a series of detailed technical duties related to preparation of the Operating Room (OR) theaters and the position and preparation of the surgical patients and related supplies/equipment.
• You will restock supplies in the theaters and storage areas and transport patients, specimens, equipment and supplies within the perioperative areas.
• You will support the surgical team regarding patient observations and interactions, and in the use, care and location of perioperative equipment and supplies.
