You will lead analyses, develop business cases, and prepare briefing materials to support strategic priorities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or related field.
  • Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in contract administration, healthcare administration, physician services, compensation administration, or related field.
  • Experience in healthcare/Medical Affairs/physician services environment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication; ability to work with diverse stakeholders.

Alberta Precision Laboratories is seeking an experienced professional to support physician services and programs within Medical Affairs. Reporting to the Lead, Medical and Scientific Affairs, this role works collaboratively with physicians, Medical Leaders, operational leaders, Finance, Legal Services, and external stakeholders to support contractual, compensation, and program-related activities, while contributing to strategic priorities and operational excellence across the organization.

Description:

The Medical Affairs Consultant serves as the primary resource for the administration of APL laboratory physician and medical leadership agreements, ensuring contractual obligations, documentation, and associated processes are managed accurately and effectively. The role provides expert advice and support on contract-related matters, oversees physician compensation and payment administration, coordinates fellowship program activities, and identifies, anticipates, and resolves issues that may impact physician agreements, payments, or program delivery. The position is responsible for maintaining data integrity, supporting compliance requirements, and fostering positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders.In addition, the Consultant leads and supports strategic and operational initiatives within Medical Affairs. This includes conducting analysis, preparing reports and recommendations for leadership, developing business cases and briefing materials, supporting policy and process development, and participating in change management and continuous improvement activities. The role provides subject matter expertise to projects and initiatives that enhance physician services, strengthen program effectiveness, and advance organizational objectives.

Required Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Additional Required Qualifications:

Minimum five (5) years of progressive experience in contract administration, healthcare administration, physician services, compensation administration, or a related field.Demonstrated knowledge of contract management principles, financial administration, and program coordination.Experience working in a healthcare, Medical Affairs, physician services, or academic medicine environment.Strong analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills, with the ability to interpret information and make sound recommendations.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with physicians, leaders, and diverse stakeholders.Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, coordinate complex activities, and meet competing deadlines in a fast-paced environment.High level of attention to detail, accuracy, and organizational effectiveness.Ability to exercise discretion and manage confidential and sensitive information with professionalism and integrity.Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced skills in Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.Strong commitment to customer service, collaboration, and continuous improvement.

Preferred Qualifications:

Master's degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Human Resources, Finance, or a related field would be considered an asset.Experience administering physician contracts, compensation arrangements, fellowship programs, or other medical workforce initiatives.Project management training, certification, or equivalent practical experience would be considered an asset.
