Job summary

Alberta Health Services seeks a Medical Laboratory Technologist I for its Northern Lights Health Centre in Fort McMurray. You will perform routine and specialized tests, analyze results and report findings in a fast-paced core laboratory environment.

The role requires an accredited MLT program, active or eligible CMLTA registration, and strong communication, organization and teamwork skills. Casual/relief position with varied shifts and opportunities to grow within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Completion of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technology (MLT) program.
• Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Medical Laboratory Technologists of Alberta (CMLTA).

Required Qualifications:

You will be adaptable and able to respond effectively to changing priorities and interruptions while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.You will demonstrate initiative, accountability and a willingness to learn, with the ability to receive and apply feedback as you continue to develop your knowledge and technical skills. You will be comfortable seeking guidance when needed and working within your level of competence.You must be able to work effectively both independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team and represent Laboratory Medicine in a respectful, professional and courteous manner.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with Roche Chemistry analyzers, Beckman DXU Urinalysis, ACL Elite Pro and Sysmex Hematology analyzers. Ortho Vision (Transfusion Medicine), MTS Gel System TM, Epic Beaker LIS and Wellsky is considered an asset. New graduates are encouraged to apply.
