Job summary

Black & McDonald Limited in Ottawa is seeking a full-time Mechanical Project Coordinator to support institutional and industrial construction projects. You will plan, organize, coordinate, and support technical workflow on projects in the mechanical field, reporting directly to the Project Manager.

Education: College Diploma in Construction or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a University Degree in Mechanical Engineering. 1–3 years in a similar role; trades experience may substitute.

Qualifications

• A College Diploma in Construction or Mechanical Engineering Technology or a University Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience in the trades may substitute for education requirements.
• 1-3 years’ experience in a similar role.
• Experience in the construction industry would be considered an asset.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications such as Word, Excel, Project and Outlook

Responsibilities

• Assist the Project Manager to ensure project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards are in accordance with company policy and contract specifications.
• Assist in planning and preparing construction schedules and milestones and monitor progress against established timelines.
• Build and maintain customer and supplier/vendor relationships.
• Prepare progress reports and issue progress schedules to clients.
• Trade and subcontractor coordination.
• Document control.
• Purchase supplies and materials as required to complete project.
• Ensure site is operating in accordance with health, safety, and environmental standards.
