General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada seeks a Mechanical Engineering co‑op to join our Calgary team. You will work on rugged electronics enclosures, 3D/NX CAD drafts, and full design life cycles from concept to production release under senior guidance.

The role emphasizes thermal, vibration, and dynamic analyses,MM&IT collaboration with hardware and PCB teams, and early participation in process improvements to boost quality and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Engineering, or an applicable scientific discipline.

Responsabilités

• Prepare mechanical designs and drawings of electronic enclosures and other mechanical systems for use in rugged environments using 3D solid modeling, and 2D CAD drafting tools.
• Perform thermal, stress and dynamic analysis on enclosures and equipment using Finite Element methods; optimize for manufacturability, weight and cost.
• Conduct engineering tests such as thermal cycling, vibration and shock testing; design fixtures; prepare Qualification Test Plans and reports.
• Collaborate with PCB designers, hardware engineers, purchasing and manufacturing to ensure smooth information flow.
• Participate in process improvements to enhance design quality and efficiency.
