Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada is seeking a Junior Mechanical Engineering Developer, Design for a 12-month term in Calgary. You will design mechanical systems for rugged environments, supporting concept through verification and production, and collaborate across disciplines to ensure manufacturability.

You will gain experience with 3D CAD, sheet metal, and assemblies while supporting design releases, testing, and integration activities on defence programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.
• 1+ year of related experience including co‑op or internship.

Responsibilities

• Create mechanical designs and drawings for systems using CAD.
• Support full design life cycle from concept to production.
• Review drawings and bills of materials for release.
• Develop installation designs for rugged military vehicles.
• Collaborate with design, systems, and manufacturing teams.
• Perform 3D scanning and vehicle cable routing.
