Job summary

General Dynamics Mission Systems–Canada invites students to join the Co-op Winter 2027 – Systems Engineering program in Ottawa and Halifax. You will support mission-critical systems development under senior engineers, gaining hands-on experience in requirements analysis, architecture, integration, and documentation.

To qualify, you must be enrolled in a recognized Canadian post-secondary institution and eligible for a co-op term.

Qualifications

• Student must be enrolled in Systems Engineering, Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related scientific program.
• Strong communication and ability to work independently and with others.
• Exposure to integration with third-party equipment or system interfaces.
• Interest in learning software and hardware engineering processes and tools.
• Strong problem-solving and technical writing skills.
• Enthusiastic learner willing to acquire new skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform system requirements analysis and define new or evolving product requirements.
• Support system architecture design, conduct trade studies, and define interfaces.
• Plan and execute system integration, including lab setup, test planning, and troubleshooting.
• Support qualification and acceptance testing activities.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation (requirements, design specs, interface documents, test plans, procedures, and reports).
• Collaborate with internal teams to provide technical support and contribute ideas.
• Handle complex system-level issues with root-cause and trend analysis.
