Job summary

Sobeys in Canada is seeking a Meat & Seafood Clerk to help customers find fresh, high-quality meat and seafood, prepare and merchandise products, and maintain clean, inviting displays. You’ll develop skills in food preparation, merchandising, and customer service, while upholding food safety standards and contributing to a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• Customer service experience and a friendly, proactive approach to helping shoppers.
• Knowledge of food safety protocols and safe handling of meat and seafood products.
• Ability to merchandise products appealingly and maintain attractive displays.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with team members and customers.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise seafood product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer Seafood orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required

You’ll assist with customer orders, prepare and package products, and ensure our displays are well-stocked, organized, and appealing. • Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
