Job summary

Sobeys in Antigonish, NS is seeking a Meat Clerk to perform full-range duties professionally and accurately, delivering exceptional customer service and contributing to a high-energy environment. You’ll adhere to Food Safety protocols, handle meat ordering, prep, and merchandising, assist customers, promote featured products, and support junior staff.

This role is on-site and requires physical work including lifting.

Qualifications

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• Physical ability to lift up to 20 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer Meat orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
