Job summary

Sobeys in Saskatoon is seeking a Meat & Seafood Clerk to help customers find fresh, high-quality meat and seafood, assist with orders, and prepare and package products. You’ll ensure displays are stocked, organized, and appealing while upholding safety standards and company policies.

You will participate in training of junior staff and contribute to cleanliness and overall store presentation. The role emphasizes customer service, product knowledge, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
• Above average communication skills (oral and written).
• Ability to lift up to 20lbs and perform physical tasks.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer Meat orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
