Job summary

Sobeys is seeking a Meat & Seafood Clerk to assist customers in finding fresh, high-quality meat and seafood products. You will help with orders, prep and package products, and keep displays stocked and engaging.

This role offers opportunities to develop skills in food preparation, merchandising, and customer service. You will work with a team that prioritizes freshness, quality, and food safety, delivering a positive shopping experience for every customer.

Qualifications

• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Ability to lift up to 20 lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, lifting, and reaching.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Food Safety Protocols, SOPs, Health & Safety, and company policies.
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat products per inventory procedures.
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales.
• Maintain back shop and retail floor cleanliness per company requirements.
• Prepare customer meat orders as required.
• Process department shrink as required.
• Participate in the training of junior staff.
• Other duties as required.

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives
• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required
• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs
• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products
• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements
• Prep Customer Meat orders, as required
• Process department shrink, as required
• Participate in the training of junior staff
• Other duties as required
