Job summary

Sobeys is seeking a Meat & Seafood Clerk to help customers find fresh meat and seafood, prepare and package products, and keep displays organized. You’ll assist with orders, ensure cleanliness, and support team training, delivering a friendly shopping experience.

You’ll promote featured items, provide excellent service, and uphold food safety standards, contributing to Sobeys’ commitment to quality and freshness.

Responsibilities

• Help customers find fresh, high-quality meat and seafood products.
• Assist with customer orders, prep and package products, and keep displays stocked and appealing.
• Promote featured products to increase store sales and provide exceptional service.
• Perform back shop and floor maintenance to keep area clean and presentable.
• Prepare customer meat orders and assist in training junior staff.

You’ll assist with customer orders, prepare and package products, and ensure our displays are well-stocked, organized, and appealing. Here’s where you’ll have an impact:

• Adhere to all Food Safety Protocols, Standard Operating Procedures, Health and Safety, corporate policies, and other programs and initiatives

• Order, receive, prep, and merchandise meat product in accordance with company inventory control procedures, as required

• Provide superior customer service to meet customer needs

• Increase store sales by actively promoting featured products

• Perform back shop and retail floor maintenance, keeping work area clean and presentable as per Company requirements

• Prep Customer Meat orders, as required

• Process department shrink, as required

• Participate in the training of junior staff

• Other duties as required
